Lucia has had quite an impressive career. She joined CBS 11 and TXA 21 in September 2010, one day before a tornado swept through the area. She’s been covering major stories across North Texas ever since. A native Texan, Andrea grew up in Houston and spent summers as a child in Colombia, South America. After earning her undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism at Boston University, she landed her first television job at a small station in Laredo, right on the banks of the Rio Grande.
She covered border security and immigration issues. When Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot his hunting partner, she was the first reporter on the air with eyewitness accounts. Andrea later worked in Orlando at WFTV and then returned home to Houston, where she reported for KTRK and KHOU. What Andrea loves most about her job is digging up new stories to tell and showing viewers what’s going on in the world around them. She is a member of IRE – Investigative Reporters and Editors.
