Anthony Mason is a renowned American broadcast journalist currently working as the senior culture correspondent at CBS News. He has worked as a reporter, anchor, and correspondent for CBS News since 1986.
Mason began his career at KJRH-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then joined WCAU-TV in Philadelphia for two years before joining WCBS-TV in New York City. Mason’s tenure at CBS News started in 1986 when he joined the network as a correspondent. He was the London Bureau correspondent from 1987 to 1990. He was then a Chief Moscow Correspondent from 1991 to 1993.
Anthony has been working in New York City since 1993 and in early 2012 he became the co-anchor of CBS This Morning Saturday, and later in 2019 became a co-host of the CBS This Morning weekday program. Mason was later named the interim anchor for the weekday editions of the CBS Evening News which took effect on June 19, 2017, until December 1, 2017.
Mason also served as the main correspondent and occasional substitute for CBS Sunday Morning with Jane Pauley. He is currently the senior culture correspondent.
