Willian Francis Weir popularly known as Bill Weir is an American television journalist for CNN based in Manhattan. He is the former co-anchor of Nightline on ABC.
Weir began his career as a general assignment reporter and weekend sportscaster at KAAL in Austin, Minnesota in 1991. He was then a sports anchor at WLUK in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and anchored WGN Morning News on WGN in Chicago from 1995 to 1988. From there he joined KABC-TV in Los Angeles as a sports anchor till 2002.
In 2004 he joined ABC News where he covered breaking news and global trends. He had an impressive career while at ABC. He co-anchored Nightline and the weekend edition of Good Morning America while at ABC. On October 12, 2013, Bill joined CNN as an anchor and Chief Innovation Correspondent, and from 2015, he hosted The Wonder List with Bill Wier.
