Elaine Cagas Quijano is an Asian-American television journalist working at CBS News as an anchor based in New York. Before joining CBS News she was a reporter for CNN.
Quijano began her career as an intern at WCIA-Tv in Champaign, Illinois, In 1994 and later became a reporter and anchor. In 1998, Elaine joined WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida as a general assignment reporter. In December 2000, she became a correspondent for CNN Newsource, an affiliate of CNN. In 2004, Elaine joined CNN/US as a Washington D.C. -based general assignment correspondent where she covered the 2004 re-election campaign of President George W. Bush. She was later named a White House correspondent for CNN.
Her tenure at CNN ended on December 23, 2009, and joined CBS News in 2010 as a general assignment reporter. Quijano is an anchor for CBSN, the digital streaming network for CBS. She anchored the Sunday edition of CBS Weekend News from 2016 to 2020. She also anchored CBS This Morning and CBS Evening News.
