Eugene Scott is an African-American journalist born and based in Washington D.C. He wrote for The Fix, the daily political blog of The Washington Post.
Scott began his Journalism career in the 90s when he participated in a scholarship program founded by former Washington Post publisher Donald E. Graham. Scott then joined The Washington Post’s, The Fix in September 2017 to write about identity politics.
He attended the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service as a fellow. Prior to joining the Post, he worked at CNN as a political correspondent, where he covered the 2016 presidential race and was the website’s senior reporter. He was part of a CNN series called “The First Time I Realized I Was Black.” Scott worked as a reporter for The Charlotte Observer, The Arizona Republic, and the Cape Argus in Cape Town, South Africa, and as a researcher at Time magazine. Scott is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
