He has helped facilitate The Trumpet satire show (2007– 2015) alongside Andy Zaltzman, with whom Oliver had beforehand co-facilitated the radio arrangement Political Creature, and facilitated John’s New York Stand-Up Show on Good times TV from 2010 to 2013.

His first stand-up special titled John: Terrifying Times, debuted on Comedy Central in 2008 and was later released on DVD. Since 2010, Oliver has hosted four seasons of the John New York Stand-Up Show.
