Sequoyah became popular when she starred in the NBC television series Believe as Bo Adams which premiered in 2014 and as Audrey in the Dexter revival miniseries Dexter: New Blood which premiered in 2021.
Johnny developed her interest in acting at a young age and began acting in independent films at the age of eight. She made her first major roles in the films Ass Backwards and I Believe in Unicorns in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Moreover, in 2014, Sequoyah starred in the American comedy-drama film Among Ravens directed by her father Russell Friedenberg, and produced by her mother, Heather Rae.
