Kevin Newman is a renowned Canadian Journalist and News anchor. Newman was the chief anchor and executive editor of Global National from 2001 to 2010. He became a substitute anchor of CTV National News with Lisa LaFlamme in August 2014 and in September 2016 was named host and managing editor of the weekly Investigative program W5.
Newman began his broadcasting career at CHRW radio in London, Ontario. In 1981 after graduating, he got his first job as a reporter for Global Ontario, and in 1986 he joined CTV as the network’s parliamentary correspondent. In 1988, Newman joined CBC Television as a reporter and anchor, hosting Midday from 1992 to 1994 before moving to ABC News in the United States where he anchored ABC World News Now for two years followed by other shows.
In 2001, Kevin moved back to Canada for Global Television which launched Global National, an English-language flagship national newscast. In April 2010, Newman announced his resignation from Global Television, and in 2012, he joined CTV News as the host of Question Period.
Newman retired from the network television in September 2019 and currently operates his own business, Kevin Newman Ideas, that produces TV shows, specials, and documentaries.
