Omar Fernando Jimenez is a well-known American journalist and correspondent for CNN. He is also a musician and has released music under the name OJ Tropicana.
Omar’s tenure at CNN started on August 7, 2017, at CNN Newsource in Washington, D.C. He has reported for over 900 CNN affiliate news stations nationwide covering breaking news and is currently based in Chicago, Illinois as a CNN correspondent. On May 29, 2020, Jimenez and his three-person news crew were arrested by a group of Minnesota state police officers while reporting live on protests in response to the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
