Sara Elinor Edwards is a renowned Welsh broadcaster. Sara has been a co-presenter of BBC Wales’ early-evening news program, Wales Today. Moreover, Edwards was appointed the Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed in 2016 becoming the first woman to serve in the role.
Edwards started her journalism career with Capital Radio and was a continuity announcer and newsreader for HTV West before joining BBC Wales News. Moreover, Sara presented from the Royal Welsh Schow and the National Eisteddfod and made a number of series for BBC 2W, including documentaries on architecture, rivers, horses, and on the countryside in general. Sara also co-hosted the BBC’s Breakfast from Cardiff and also presented a number of radio programs for Radio Wales, including Sara’s People and Food Matters.
Away from journalism, Sara is a Commander of the Order of St John and she has presented gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards on behalf of The Duke of Edinburgh at St James’s Palace. Additionally, Edwards is the Divisional Vice President of the NSPCC in West Wales and is involved with Cancer Research Wales and the British Heart Foundation.
