Sean McDonough is a renowned American sportscaster currently working at ESPN and WEEI Red Sox Radio Network. 

McDonough began his broadcasting career in 1982 as the play-by-play announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League in Syracuse, New York, United States. Later on, Sean began broadcasting Boston Red Sox games on WSBK-TV until 2005 when his contract ended. Sean returned to Red Sox broadcasts as a part-time play-by-play announcer on the team’s radio network in 2019 and became a permanent part-time announcer after announcing 32 games that season.

Between 1990 to 1999, Sean worked for CBS Sports where he broadcast college basketball, College football, NFL, US Open tennis, golf, and three Winter Olympics (bobsled and luge in both 1992 and 1994 and ice hockey in 1998). Since 2000, Sean has announced Baseball, college football, golf, college basketball, NBA, NHL, and NCAA hockey for ESPN on ABC. McDonough began play-by-play work for the NFL on ESPN Radio in 2013 and in 2016, he was named the lead play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football until March 2018
