Weijia Jiang is a renowned Chinese-American television journalist and reporter based in Washington D.C. and has served as the senior White House Correspondent for CBS News since July 2018.

Jiang began her professional journalism career as a reporter for Salisbury, Maryland’s WBOC-TV after graduating from college. Between 2008 and 2012, she worked at WJZ-TV, Baltimore, and then joined WCBS-TV, New York as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor until 2015.

Jiang then became a correspondent for Newspath, the 24-hour newsgathering service for CBS News based in Washington D.C., where she covered major political stories. In 2018, Jiang became a senior CBS News correspondent for the White House and traveled with President Donald Trump on many occasions including on-board Air Force One.

However, there are controversial moments between Jiang and Donald Trump. The former president told Jian to “Ask China” after questioning him about the COVID-19 testing program during his May 11 press briefing. Moreover, Weijia is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
