Zak Bagans is an American paranormal investigator, actor, museum operator, author, and television personality. He is the main host of the tv series Ghost Adventures airing on the Travel Channel.
In 2004, Zak, Nick Groff who is also a paranormal investigator, and Aaron Goodwin teamed up to produce the documentary Ghost Adventures. The documentary first aired on SciFi Channel in 2007. The documentary was turned into a series and in 2008, it premiered on Travel Channel. The series has a spin-off series called Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks which ran from 2014-2016. Deadly Possessions premiered on April 2, 2016, on the Travel Channel. Zak features on the show as himself finding items in a haunted museum in Las Vegas.
Some of these items are; Bela Lugosi’s Mirror, the Dybbuk Box, Peggy the Doll, and Jack Kevorkian’s “Death Van”. The museum was opened to the public in October 2017. In 2018, the museum received a Las Vegas Mayor’s award for historic preservation and adaptive reuse. Bagans will be hosting a new horror anthology show in which he would also be an executive producer. This news was announced in May 2021 by Discovery+ Channel. Zak is the writer of Ghost-Hunting For Dummies which was published in December 2019. He co-authored the book Dark World: Into the Shadows with the Lead Investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew with author Kelly Crigger. The book debuted on The New York Times Best Seller list at No. 18 on September 23, 2011.
